Transformer Repair Services

The project is an unsolicited proposal submitted by Kilowatt Electrics Limited (KWEL) to the NEMSA. KWEL is proposing a joint venture partnership with NEMSA to operate the transformer repairs workshop in Ijora Lagos and construction of transformer repair workshops in Port Harcourt and Kaduna centers. The partnership will also include the role of electrical inspection, testing and certification of all electrical installation hitherto performed by NEMSA.

Kashimbila Dam is a 32m high composite dam with a 40 MW hydropower station located on the Katsina-Ala River, Taraba State, a tributary of the Benue River, approximately 20 km downstream of the Nigeria-Cameroon border. It comprises a zoned rockfill embankment with a central mass gravity ogee spillway, an outlet works which consist of multi-level intakes and outlet structure.

1,650MW Makurdi Hydropower Project

 

The 1,650MW Makurdi Hydropower Project (Makurdi HPP) was originally conceived as part of the Plan for Electric Power System Development issued by the then National Electric Power Authority [NEPA] in 1974. The planned dam site is located on the Benue River, the primary tributary of the Niger River in Nigeria, about 10 ~ 15 km upstream of Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.

The proposed Port and FTZ are part of the proposed Ibom Industrial City initiative that will be established on a 14,400-hectare site donated by the Akwa Ibom State Government (AKSG) at no value. The IDSP project is intended to become a major national and regional economic gateway that will provide additional container handling capacity for the country. In addition to containers, the IDSP is expected to handle petroleum products (export and import), crude oil and natural gas (export), vehicles (import) and bulk trade in natural resources (import and export).
It is planned to be the deepest port in the West African sub-region.

In line with NIMASA’s vision, the Agency attempted to address the issue of setting up Offshore Reception Facilities between 2007 and 2012 but was unsuccessful due to the absence of regulations to back any proposals for the establishment of the facilities. Irrespective of the introduction of these new regulations, NIMASA has not been able to actualize its obligations of MARPOL 73/78 due to economic and budgetary challenges, hence the agency’s effort in sourcing the PPP procurement option. There’s currently no established OWRF to meet the needs of ships visiting offshore terminals.
