In recognition of the effort of the management of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), to adhere to the dictates of the Freedom of Information Act with respect to PPP transactions, Director General of the Commission, Engr. Chidi KC Izuwah, was recently presented with a copy of the 2016 FOI Compliance and Transparency Ranking by the Public and Private Development Center.
Making the presentation, Programme Officer of the Center, Onyekachi Chukwu, disclosed that the transparency effort, an initiative of the Center, was launched on 28th September, 2017 as part of activities to mark the International Right to Know Day.
The ranking which placed the ICRC in the second position of 166 public institutions under review, is based on an assessment of levels of access to procurement related information specifically procurement plans and processes, acts as a peer review mechanism among these institutions.
